Find Your Perfect Base.. Satin Silk vs Second Skin vs Tint & Glow

With the launch of our NEW, high coverage collection Satin Silk, we’ve been getting lots of questions about the differences in our base products, so we thought we’d walk you through the benefits of each to help you decide which one your skin needs the most.

We now have three foundation products in our base category to cover light, medium and high coverage.

Tint & Glow - Light and Radiant

We’ll start with our lightest coverage of the bunch, Tint & Glow. Tint & Glow is best described as a skin enhancer, and lends itself to the tinted moisturiser/light foundation category. It provides sheer coverage to the skin meaning it will cover redness and brighten the complexion while still allowing skin realness to show.. hello freckles!

Tint & Glow protects with SPF30 and has built in blue light protection with carrot root extract. It’s a mineral, hydrating, sheer coverage base that evens out the complexion, leaving the skin polished and glowing. With a unique blend of Hyaluronic Acid and Niacinamide, it hydrates and brightens the skin and also acts as an antioxidant, reviving tired & dull skin.

Tint & Glow comes in 17 flexible shades ranging from cool, neutral and warm tones. Due to the glowy, lightweight & sheer coverage formula, each shade can actually sit between at least two foundation shades, hence the smaller shade range.

Second Skin - Hydrating and Collagen Boosting

Next up is our award winning Second Skin foundation. This is our medium buildable coverage foundation with added SPF50.

Available in both a Matte and a Dewy formula, Second Skin allows you to choose your finish based on what suits your skin type the most. We suggest the matte finish for those with normal to oily skin or for those who need an oil free base but still like their skin to look hydrated & radiant. On the other hand, the dewy finish works best for those with normal to dry skin who love a little glow. It has added essential oils like aloe vera and lavender oil to further hydrate & nourish the skin.

Both the matte and the dewy finish have SPF50 for UVA & UVB protection, but there’s no need to worry, the SPF in Second Skin will not cause any flashback as the formula is not mixed with any heavy powders and is completely talc-free. Second Skin is a mineral foundation with a hyaluronic acid, collagen boosting formula.

We currently have 30 shades of Second Skin in a range of undertones and each shade is the exact same in both the matte and the dewy finish.

Satin Silk - Longwearing yet Lightweight

Our newest arrival to the the Sculpted family is Satin Silk Longwear Foundation, which is our longwearing, high coverage foundation. It leaves an airbrushed, satin silk finish on the skin and is ultralight and breathable unlike any other high coverage foundation. This dependable base is perfect for your wedding day, nights out or for those days when you just feel like a little more coverage.

Satin Silk has skin-boosting ingredients like Hyaluronic Acid, Vitamin E, Niacinamide and Centella Asiatica. All which work to hydrate, brighten and calm the skin.

Available in 30 inclusive shades that mirror our Second Skin range, we recommend you go for the same shade as you wear in Second Skin, however due to the higher coverage and pigment, Satin Silk shades may seem ever so slightly deeper than Second Skin.
