New Year - New You! Activewear To Motivate

Hi Lovelies!

I think it's safe to say that we've all enjoyed the over indulgence and relaxation that came with Christmas but I know a lot of us are just itching to getting back to reality and doing something for ourselves! As a lot of you who have been following me for a while know, I took up tennis last year and I just love it!

I know lots of people who were terrified of the gym or doing a class but the one thing I want to say is: Do it for yourself! Don't be hard on yourself - We all have our own pace and everybody has a different goal when it comes to fitness, whether it's losing weight, toning up & building muscle or just being more active in general.

Exercise isn't just about the body either, it's a well known fact that exercise releases endorphins that trigger a positive feeling in the body. So beat those January Blues and check out some of these fab active wear items - Because if you feel confident your workout gear you're half way there!

I've picked out a few of the best active wear that's ideal for whatever exercise you choose!

Trainers

Nike Training Free TR 9 Trainers

Comfort is key when it comes to activewear and I absolutely love these trainers. Nike have created these to be breathable, flexible and give great support too. I've got some Nike trainers already and honestly, these are not just made for the gym, I'd definitely wear these with casual daytime looks. They fit like a glove and it's really important to invest in a good pair of trainers when working out because the last thing you want is to get blisters or feel your feet can't breathe! You can find these here.

Reebok Print Smooth Running Trainers in Black

I know a lot of people are afraid of white trainers so I've included these black ones from Reebok - and the best part is these are now on sale. They were €103.69 and are now €62.21. Act fast though because there's limited sizes left. They're also sock-like, flexible and have built in odour control, with a rubber rim under heel and toe for grip. You can find these here.

Leggings

ASOS 4505 Black Legging

ASOS have launched a new activewear range which is seriously competitive style wise too. The ASOS 4505 range is up there with any of the brand names. I always think if you're starting out joining the exercise buzz a pair of black leggings that will keep you cool (these are a cotton & elastane mix so breathable without losing shape) while working out is the basis of what you need in your bag.

Check out these 4505 leggings here for just €24.89.

Adidas Training Brand Leggings in Black

If you love brands then these are for you. These are really stretchy with an elasticated waistband and are body con fit so you'll never have to worry about them going anywhere while mid-workout! A high rise waist helps us all to feel less self-conscious in the gym too :) You can find these here.

Onzie Leopard Print Mesh Panel Yoga Leggings

These are exclusive to ASOS and just looking at them could motivate the best of us! They are not for everyone but if you're feeling a little extra they are perfect! Onzie were designed by a yoga enthusiast with mesh panels guaranteed to keep you cool. They're also on sale at the moment so it's a win-win. Were €76.04 now €45.62 and you can find these here.

Tops

ASOS 4505 Vest

Whenever I'm looking for gym gear it's kind of intimidating that every image is of girls in crop tops - if you've got the confidence for it absolutely go for it! I find that sports tops/crop tops are a necessity when working out but I also love just throwing a t-shirt or vest over them!

You can't go wrong with a basic white gym top - it will match every pair of bottoms you own. This one has a racer back and dropped armholes so it's really light and breathable. And it's only €19.36! You can find this one here.

Nike Running Long Sleeve Hooded Top

If you're more of an outdoorsy person this Nike long sleeved top is perfect for running & hiking. It's also hooded so it's pretty ideal for Irish weather - Let's face it, it's not going to warm up for a while so this style will keep you snug when you're out in any weather. Using Nike Dry-FIT technology it helps move sweat away from the skin, which is then drawn out of the fabric to speed up evaporation so it keeps you cool and dry. You can find this one here.

Adidas Training Logo Tank

Another basic tank here. I just honestly find you can't have too many of these if you are starting gym / yoga.. whatever the exercise is! You can just toss them in the machine after training and they dry super quickly too. This one also has a racer back and Adidas call it climate technology - basically drawing sweat away from the skin. You can find this one here.

I'm going to pop a few training bras in here together. These are just amazing underneath t-shirts or vests and just ideal for working out.

Puma Contrast Stitch Asymmetric Bra

This one is non-padded and has a stretch underband so it's going to be really comfortable. You can find this one here.

Only Play Tropical Print Breathable Sports Bra

If you wanted something a little brighter to help motivate you here's a lovely one from Only Play in a gorgeous tropical floral print. It has removable padding, racer back and breathable mesh inserts. And the bonus on this one is that it's now only €13.83 down from €34.56 - you can find this one here.

Adidas Training Three Stripe Bra in White

This one is a little more expensive but as the saying goes you get what you pay for! It has moulded cups, a stretch underband and racer back and is really form fitting so it's going to give you the support and comfort needed for a workout. You can find this one here.

Jackets

Nike Running Essentials Jacket

If you love to get outdoors for exercise it's really important to have a jacket that will protect you from the elements. This jacket by Nike vents to chest and back to keep you cool and has a hooded neck for those rainy days. It also has a dropped hem so you're getting the most coverage. I love the look of the pockets on this one too to hold your phone, earphones and keys (I also bring lip balm with me whenever I'm exercising outdoors cause I just find the cold can really damage your lips!) You can find this one here.

Another place to check out really affordable activewear is the beloved Penneys (Primark!!) I know Penney's don't sell online but it's a great place to pop into and pick up these bits up, however, sometimes they may not suck you in the way you need it! I had a pair a while ago that kept falling low which is so annoying whilst squatting in the gym haha. They have since put a huge focus on activewear so I'm sure there's a wide range to choose from now. Check these out; Rainbow side stripe crop top €6, rainbow side stripe legging €13, pink trainer €14. For a full look at their range, you can check it out here or pop in stores!
